Bio

Hall of Ghosts reside off rock's beaten track - a musical backroad steeped in folk, cinematic pop and rootsy Americana where wistful lyrics fuse with bittersweet melodies.

Singer/songwriter Jim Williams, a Shropshire (UK) based musician and producer, launched Hall of Ghosts as a solo act after several years fronting the Alt. Country band Additional Moog, who release two critically acclaimed albums ; "Thirty Three & A Third" and "Endless Air".

The debut album "A Random Quiet" was completed in late 2011, nearly two years after the project was first mooted. Jim wrote and recorded the album at his home studio and went through a protracted period of discarding older, previously unreleased material in favour of a batch of new songs that make up the final eight song album.

Hall of Ghosts' musical influences such as The Band, Simon & Garfunkel and Neil Young are hinted at across the album, but rarely made explicit. Indeed, "A Random Quiet" is the work of a songwriter forging his own, individual style.

Jim plays electric and acoustic guitars, bass, keyboards and percussion on the album with several songs composed on the piano. Drum duty was handled by talented Powys (UK) musician Ben Davies, whilst pedal steel flourishes were added by British steel guitar luminary Gerry Hogan - noted for his work with the likes of Albert Lee and the Everly Brothers.

Jim will unveil Hall of Ghosts on a solo acoustic tour in spring 2012.
